                            Basic overview of what to expect during residency

  

                                      Homestead Inn Recovery Based Phases
 

At the Homestead Inn, your success in the 12-step program is of the utmost importance to your recovery. Getting actively involved in the recovery community is crucial for your success. The Recovery Based Phases outlined below are designed to help you along in your journey, and adherence to these phases is a requirement of residency. Before transitioning to the next phase, a conversation with the House Leader is required to request transition to the next phase. Changing phases is NOT automatic. 

                  Phase 1 (First Month of Residency at The Homestead)


  Installing and keeping your One Step app up to date.


Active participation in the community and completion of weekly chores

 Attend all morning meetings. Morning meeting is held at 8:30am Monday – Friday at the outdoor meeting area when weather permits or is held in the barn.

BE PUNCTUAL.
 
MINIMUM 5 AA or equivalent meetings must be attended per week. (One meeting per day on FIVE SEPARATE days. If you plan to go to a non-12-step based meeting, management approval must be obtained BEFOREHAND). Just like AA, we strongly suggest 90 meetings in your first 90 days.
 
Must attend at least one Step meeting each week. (12&12 or Big Book meeting).
 
Meetings MUST be documented properly in onestep in order to receive credit for your attendance. If you are experiencing technical difficulties, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to alert the House Leader immediately, and you must send a text to the House Leader informing him what meeting you are attending while you are there.
 
Credit will not be given if neither of the above expectations are met.
 
Attendance at our weekly Accountability meeting AND the Never Walk Alone group on Friday nights is MANDATORY.
Get a Sponsor and actively work the AA or NA program. You CANNOT phase up to phase two until you have a sponsor. If your sponsor is not known by staff, you must coordinate a meeting with your sponsor and the House Leader before you can phase up to phase two.
Either you or your sponsor must have means of transportation to ensure weekly meetings together. If you do not have a license and transportation, your sponsor must.
 
Leaving the property while on phase one is permitted ONLY under the following circumstances:
-You may leave with a phase two or higher resident.
-You may leave the property with a management approved sponsor.
-You may leave the property with an immediate family member.                                                       YOU MUST INFORM THE HOUSE LEADER IF YOU ARE GOING TO
                                    LEAVE THE PROPERTY WHILE ON PHASE ONE.
 
Curfew is 10:00pm every night.
 
We want you to feel at home here and we encourage visitors. You may have visitors between the hours of 9:30am and 10:00pm. NO VISITORS ARE ALLOWED IN ROOMS, but visitors are allowed in any common area such as the barn, grass, volleyball and meeting area.

 

Phase 2 (Months Two, Three, and Four)

A conversation with the house leader is REQUIRED in order to transition to phase 2. 

PHASE TRANSITIONS NOT AUTOMATIC. It is YOUR responsibility to initiate this conversation.

Attend all morning meetings unless you are already at work when the meeting begins.
 
Must continue actively working with your sponsor. If for any reason you no longer have a sponsor or feel you need to change sponsors, you must notify the House Leader immediately for support.
 
MINIMUM 4 AA or equivalent meetings must be attended per week. (One meeting per day on FOUR SEPARATE days). Just like AA, we strongly suggest 90 meetings in your first 90 days
 
Meetings must be documented in Onestep. (See phase 1 description for Onestep requirements).
Attendance at our weekly accountability meeting and the Never Walk Alone Group on Friday nights is MANDATORY.
 
ONE overnight pass is permitted weekly and is to be taken on Friday or Saturday night. Approval from the house Leader is required for ANY AND ALL overnights. The following outlines the overnight request process:
-----You must speak to the House Leader to verbally request an overnight. If the House leader is not present, you must obtain verbal approval o     over the telephone.
-----After verbal approval is obtained, you must fill out and submit the Overnight Request Form found in your Onestep app under shared resources. The overnight request form must be filled out ENTIERLY. If it is found that the form is not filled out correctly, or if it is found that you are not where you said you would be, suspension of overnight privileges will result.
*If your overnight is going to be Friday, Attendance is still required at the Never Walk Alone Group, and you may leave AFTER the meeting ends.
 
You may leave the property alone and may attend meetings alone.
 
Must attend a weekly step meeting (12&12, Big Book)
 
Curfew is extended to 11:00pm Sunday-Thursday, and Midnight on Friday and Saturday.

                Phase 3 (Month 5 Until Completion of Stepwork)

Completion of Stepwork means actively working step 9, and working steps 10,11,&12 on a daily basis. A conversation with the House Leader is REQUIRED in order to transition to phase three. TRANSITIONING PHASES IS NOT AUTOMATIC. It is YOUR responsibility to intiate this conversation.

 Must attend morning meeting if not working.


  Installing and keeping your One Step app up to date.


Active participation in the community and completion of weekly chores.


Must continue actively working with your sponsor. By this point it is expected that you are well into the writing phase of the AA or NA program. If you no longer have a sponsor for any reason or if you feel you need to change sponsors, you must notify the House Leader immediately for support.
 
MINIMUM 4 AA or equivalent meetings per week. (One meeting per day on FOUR SEPARATE days).
 
Meetings must be documented in Onestep. (See phase 1 for onestep requirements).
 
You may request two overnights per week. You may take both nights during the weekend, or you may request one overnight on the weekend and one during the week if you wish.
 
Curfew 11:00pm Sunday-Thursday, and Midnight Friday and Saturday.

 
                        Phase 4 (After Completion of Stepwork)

Completion of Stepwork means actively working step 9, and working steps 10,11,&12 on a daily basis. A conversation with the House Leader is REQUIRED in order to transition to phase 4. TRANSITIONING PHASES IS NOT AUTOMATIC. It is YOUR responsibility to initiate this conversation.


 Keeping your One Step app up to date.

Active participation in the community and completion of weekly chores

Must continue working with your sponsor.
 
MINIMUM 3 AA or equivalent meetings per week. (One meeting per day on THREE SEPARATE days)
 
You may request three overnights per week. (One Friday night, one Saturday night, and one during the week).
 
Curfew Midnight.
